The Bag Event
The Bag Event is a fun ladies' night out featuring a fabulous silent auction full of new and gently used designer and celebrity handbags. Guests at the event also enjoy eloquent speakers, entertainment, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and knowing that they are supporting a life-saving cause.
The Bag Event was initially created in memory of Susie Hazelett—a beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt, friend, Indiana philanthropist and civic leader. She died in August 2004 just one month after diagnosis of ovarian cancer and surgery. In the months after her death, Susie's family and friends organized the "Old Bag's Luncheon - For the Love of Susie" to raise funds for research and the mission of Ovar'coming Together. The fundraiser, honoring the legacy of Susie Hazelett's love, has evolved in format and design since its creation, and is now known as “The Bag Event.” The size and success of this spectacular Legacy of Love has grown year after year.
